           Theyachthadrisenoncemore,butshefoundherselfatthemercyofthewavesentirelynow,withnothingtosteadyordirecther,andwassofearfullypitchedandtossedaboutthateverymomentthecaptainexpectedthemastswouldbreakshortoff.Johnhadnoresourcebuttoputupaforestaysail,andrunbeforethegale.Butthiswasnoeasytask.Twentytimesoverhehadallhisworktobeginagain,anditwas3P.M.beforehisattemptsucceeded.
