Dr.Weitbrecht-Rotholzbelongstothatschoolofhistorianswhichbelievesthathumannatureisnotonlyaboutasbadasitcanbe,butagreatdealworse;andcertainlythereaderissaferofentertainmentintheirhandsthaninthoseofthewriterswhotakeamaliciouspleasureinrepresentingthegreatfiguresofromanceaspatternsofthedomesticvirtues.
