First,heaskedifamaninEnglandmighthavetwosolicitorsormore. Itoldhimhemighthaveadozenifhewished,butthatitwouldnotbewisetohavemorethanonesolicitorengagedinonetransaction,asonlyonecouldactatatime,andthattochangewouldbecertaintomilitateagainsthisinterest. Heseemedthoroughlytounderstand,andwentontoaskiftherewouldbeanypracticaldifficultyinhavingonemantoattend,say,tobanking,andanothertolookaftershipping,incaselocalhelpwereneededinaplacefarfromthehomeofthebankingsolicitor.
