           TheParthenoncameoutinitsnextnumberpattingitselfonthebackforthestirithadmade,sneeringatSirJohnValue,andexploitingBrissenden’sdeathwithruthlesscommercialism. AnewspaperwithasworncirculationofhalfamillionpublishedanoriginalandspontaneouspoembyHelenDellaDelmar,inwhichshegibedandsneeredatBrissenden. Also,shewasguiltyofasecondpoem,inwhichsheparodiedhim. 

           MartinhadmanytimestobegladthatBrissendenwasdead. Hehadhatedthecrowdso,andhereallthatwasfinestandmostsacredofhimhadbeenthrowntothecrowd. DailythevivisectionofBeautywenton. Everynincompoopinthelandrushedintofreeprint,floatingtheirwizenedlittleegosintothepubliceyeonthesurgeofBrissenden’sgreatness.
