           ThenAuntJamesinawonderedwhythosegiddygirlsalllaughed.

           Anne’seyesshoneallthatday;literaryambitionssproutedandbuddedinherbrain;theirexhilarationaccompaniedhertoJennieCooper’swalkingparty,andnoteventhesightofGilbertandChristine,walkingjustaheadofherandRoy,couldquitesubduethesparkleofherstarryhopes.Nevertheless,shewasnotsoraptfromthingsofearthastobeunabletonoticethatChristine’swalkwasdecidedlyungraceful.

           “ButIsupposeGilbertlooksonlyatherface.Solikeaman,”thoughtAnnescornfully.
