           Ourvoyageduringthenexttwoweekswasmostinterestingandprosperous.Thebreezecontinuedgenerallyfair,andatalltimesenabledustolieourcourse;forbeing,asIhavesaidbefore,clipper-built,thepirateschoonercouldlieveryclosetothewindandmakelittleleeway.Wehadnodifficultynowinmanagingoursails,forJackwasheavyandpowerful,whilePeterkinwasactiveasakitten.Still,however,wewereaveryinsufficientcrewforsuchavessel;andifanyonehadproposedtoustomakesuchavoyageinitbeforewehadbeenforcedtogothroughsomanyhardshipsfromnecessity,wewouldhaveturnedawaywithpityfromtheindividualmakingsuchproposalasfromamadman.Iponderedthisagooddeal,andatlastconcludedthatmendonotknowhowmuchtheyarecapableofdoingtilltheytry,andthatweshouldnevergivewaytodespairinanyundertaking,howeverdifficultitmayseemalwayssupposing,however,thatourcauseisagoodone,andthatwecanasktheDivineblessingonit.

           Although,therefore,wecouldnowmanageoursailseasily,weneverthelessfoundthatmypulleyswereofmuchservicetousinsomethings,thoughJackdidlaughheartilyattheuncoutharrangementofropesandblocks,whichhad,toasailor’seye,averylumberingandclumsyappearance.ButIwillnotdragmyreaderthroughthedetailsofthisvoyage.
