TheschoolhousewhereBiddywasmistressIhadneverseen;but,thelittleroundaboutlanebywhichIenteredthevillage,forquietness’sake,tookmepastit.Iwasdisappointedtofindthatthedaywasaholiday;nochildrenwerethere,andBiddy’shousewasclosed.Somehopefulnotionofseeingher,busilyengagedinherdailyduties,beforeshesawme,hadbeeninmymindandwasdefeated.
