           Anne’slipsquivered,butsherealizedthebittertruthofMarilla’sremarks.Withadismalsighshewentforthescissors.

           “Pleasecutitoffatonce,Marilla,andhaveitover.Oh,Ifeelthatmyheartisbroken.Thisissuchanunromanticaffliction.
