Foraboutamileandahalftheroadranstraight,andthenbenttotheright,afterwhichitdividedintotworoads.Longbeforewecametothebendshewasoutofsight.Whichwayhadsheturned?Awomanwasstandingathergardengate,shadinghereyeswithherhand,andlookingeagerlyuptheroad.Scarcelydrawingtherein,Blantyreshouted,“Whichway?”“Totheright!”criedthewoman,pointingwithherhand,andawaywewentuptheright-handroad;thenforamomentwecaughtsightofher;anotherbendandshewashiddenagain.
