           ThenextmorningthemastercametoseehowwewereandtospeaktoJames.Ididnothearmuch,forthehostlerwasrubbingmedown,butIcouldseethatJameslookedveryhappy,andIthoughtthemasterwasproudofhim.Ourmistresshadbeensomuchalarmedinthenightthatthejourneywasputofftilltheafternoon,soJameshadthemorningonhand,andwentfirsttotheinntoseeaboutourharnessandthecarriage,andthentohearmoreaboutthefire.Whenhecamebackweheardhimtellthehostleraboutit.Atfirstnoonecouldguesshowthefirehadbeencaused,butatlastamansaidhesawDickTowlergointothestablewithapipeinhismouth,andwhenhecameouthehadnotone,andwenttothetapforanother
