           Curiously,forallherleaningtowardsHurstwood,hehadnottakenafirmholdonherunderstanding.Shewaslistening,smiling,approving,andyetnotfinallyagreeing.Thiswasduetoalackofpoweronhispart,alackofthatmajestyofpassionthatsweepsthemindfromitsseat,fusesandmeltsallargumentsandtheoriesintoatangledmass,anddestroysforthetimebeingthereasoningpower.Thismajestyofpassionispossessedbynearlyeverymanonceinhislife,butitisusuallyanattributeofyouthandconducestothefirstsuccessfulmating.
