           Hurstwoodfeltsomeofthisinhernature,thoughhedidnotactuallyperceiveit.Hedweltwithherinpeaceandsomesatisfaction.Hedidnotfearherintheleast—therewasnocauseforit.Shestilltookafaintprideinhim,whichwasaugmentedbyherdesiretohavehersocialintegritymaintained.Shewassecretlysomewhatpleasedbythefactthatmuchofherhusband’spropertywasinhername,aprecautionwhichHurstwoodhadtakenwhenhishomeinterestsweresomewhatmorealluringthanatpresent.
