           Icouldnotdiscoverwhethermyaunt,inherlastshortconversationwithme,hadfallenonapiousfraud,orhadreallymistakenthestateofmymind.Itwasquiteenough,shesaid,thatshehadtoldmeAgneswasgoingtobemarried;andthatInowknewbetterthananyonehowtrueitwas.

           Weweremarriedwithinafortnight.TraddlesandSophy,andDoctorandMrs.Strong,weretheonlyguestsatourquietwedding.Weleftthemfullofjoy;anddroveawaytogether.Claspedinmyembrace,IheldthesourceofeveryworthyaspirationIhadeverhad;thecentreofmyself,thecircleofmylife,myown,mywife;myloveofwhomwasfoundedonarock!
