And,moreover,thiswasreallynotanaccountinginthesenseofremovinganythingfromhishands.Sincetheissuewastobesolarge,thesumathisdisposalwouldalwaysbelarge,andso-calledtransfersandbalancingattheendofthemonthwouldbeamerematterofbookkeeping.Hecouldusethesecityloancertificatesdepositedwithhimformanipulativepurposes,depositthematanybankascollateralforaloan,quiteasiftheywerehisown,thusraisingseventypercent.oftheiractualvalueincash,andhedidnothesitatetodoso.Hecouldtakethiscash,whichneednotbeaccountedforuntiltheendofthemonth,andcoverotherstocktransactions,onwhichhecouldborrowagain.Therewasnolimittotheresourcesofwhichhenowfoundhimselfpossessed,excepttheresourcesofhisownenergy,ingenuity,andthelimitsoftimeinwhichhehadtowork.
