Havinglearnedsuchprecautions,Martinconsulted"TheDuchess"fortone,andproceededtomixaccordingtoformula. Theformulaconsistsofthreeparts: (1)apairofloversarejarredapart; (2)bysomedeedoreventtheyarereunited; (3)marriagebells. Thethirdpartwasanunvaryingquantity,butthefirstandsecondpartscouldbevariedaninfinitenumberoftimes.
