           Elizabethtooktheletterfromhiswriting-table,andtheywentupstairstogether. MaryandKittywerebothwithMrs.Bennet:onecommunicationwould,therefore,doforall. Afteraslightpreparationforgoodnews,theletterwasreadaloud. Mrs.Bennetcouldhardlycontainherself. AssoonasJanehadreadMr.Gardiner’shopeofLydia’sbeingsoonmarried,herjoyburstforth,andeveryfollowingsentenceaddedtoitsexuberance. Shewasnowinanirritationasviolentfromdelight,asshehadeverbeenfidgetyfromalarmandvexation. Toknowthatherdaughterwouldbemarriedwasenough. Shewasdisturbedbynofearforherfelicity,norhumbledbyanyremembranceofhermisconduct. 

           "Mydear,dearLydia!"shecried. "Thisisdelightfulindeed! Shewillbemarried! Ishallseeheragain! Shewillbemarriedatsixteen! Mygood,kindbrother! Iknewhowitwouldbe.Iknewhewouldmanageeverything!
