Withmanycomplimentstothem,andmuchself-gratulationontheprospectofaconnectionbetweenthehouses,heunfoldedthematter—toanaudiencenotmerelywondering,butincredulous; forMrs.Bennet,withmoreperseverancethanpoliteness,protestedhemustbeentirelymistaken;andLydia,alwaysunguardedandoftenuncivil,boisterouslyexclaimed:
"GoodLord! SirWilliam,howcanyoutellsuchastory? DonotyouknowthatMr.CollinswantstomarryLizzy?"
