           HewalkedsixorseventimesroundthePlaceRoyale,turningateverytenstepstolookatthelightinMilady’sapartment,whichwastobeseenthroughtheblinds.Itwasevidentthatthistimetheyoungwomanwasnotinsuchhastetoretiretoherapartmentasshehadbeenthefirst.

           Atlengththelightdisappeared.Withthislightwasextinguishedthelastirresolutionintheheartofd’Artagnan.
