Theking’spalaceisnoregularedifice,butaheapofbuildings,aboutsevenmilesround:thechiefroomsaregenerallytwohundredandfortyfeethigh,andbroadandlonginproportion.AcoachwasallowedtoGlumdalclitchandme,whereinhergovernessfrequentlytookherouttoseethetown,orgoamongtheshops;andIwasalwaysoftheparty,carriedinmybox;althoughthegirl,atmyowndesire,wouldoftentakemeout,andholdmeinherhand,thatImightmoreconvenientlyviewthehousesandthepeople,aswepassedalongthestreets.IreckonedourcoachtobeaboutasquareofWestminster-hall,butnotaltogethersohigh:however,Icannotbeveryexact.
