VII. The Tragic Meeting of Two Old Friends

           Sheshookherhead,andheliftedherup;then,ataslowpace,wentonwardwithhisload.Theairwasnowcompletelycool;butwheneverhepassedoverasandypatchofgrounduncarpetedwithvegetationtherewasreflectedfromitssurfaceintohisfacetheheatwhichithadimbibedduringtheday.
