           Aouda,despitethestorm,keptcomingoutofthewaiting-room,goingtotheendoftheplatform,andpeeringthroughthetempestofsnow,asiftopiercethemistwhichnarrowedthehorizonaroundher,andtohear,ifpossible,somewelcomesound.Sheheardandsawnothing.Thenshewouldreturn,chilledthrough,toissueoutagainafterthelapseofafewmoments,butalwaysinvain.
