NeverbeforehadtheBritishpowerinIndiabeenexposedtosuchdanger,andif,astheyhadhoped,thesepoyshadreceivedassistancefromwithout,theinfluenceandsupremacyinAsiaoftheUnitedKingdomwouldhavebeenathingofthepast.
ThenameofPrinceDakkarwasatthattimewellknown.Hehadfoughtopenlyandwithoutconcealment.Apricewassetuponhishead,buthemanagedtoescapefromhispursuers.
