Itmaywellbesupposedthatsuchstorms,comparabletowater-spoutsinwhichweremingledrainandsnow,wouldcausegreathavocontheplateauofProspectHeights.Themillandthepoultry-yardparticularlysuffered.Thecolonistswereoftenobligedtomakeimmediaterepairs,withoutwhichthesafetyofthebirdswouldhavebeenseriouslythreatened.
