           Pencroftafterwardsreturnedtowardsthemouthoftheriver.Theboatthenskirtedtheshore,which,extendingtotheextremepoint,hidallTadorn’sFens.

           Thispoint,ofwhichthedistancewasincreasedbytheirregularityofthecoast,wasnearlythreemilesfromtheMercy.Thesettlersresolvedtogotoitsextremity,andonlygobeyonditasmuchaswasnecessarytotakearapidsurveyofthecoastasfarasClawCape.
