Aftereatingourfillofberries,withtwonestfulsofpartlyhatchedquail-eggsfordessert,Lop-EarandIwanderedcircumspectlyintothewoodstowardtheriver.Herewaswherestoodmyoldhome-tree,outofwhichIhadbeenthrownbytheChatterer.Itwasstilloccupied.Therehadbeenincreaseinthefamily.Clingingtighttomymotherwasalittlebaby.Also,therewasagirl,partlygrown,whocautiouslyregardedusfromoneofthelowerbranches.Shewasevidentlymysister,orhalf-sister,rather.
