           "Iwillnottrustmyselfonthesubject,"repliedWickham; "Icanhardlybejusttohim." 

           Elizabethwasagaindeepinthought,andafteratimeexclaimed, "Totreatinsuchamannerthegodson,thefriend,thefavouriteofhisfather!" Shecouldhaveadded, "Ayoungman,too,likeyou,whoseverycountenancemayvouchforyourbeingamiable"—butshecontentedherselfwith,"andone,too,whohadprobablybeenhiscompanionfromchildhood,connectedtogether,asIthinkyousaid,intheclosestmanner!"
