           Hebecameawareofameasuredconcussionandtheclashofglass,farawayinthedistance. Andthen,ashesatopen-mouthed,cameastillmorewonderfulthing. Theshuttersofthedrawing-roomwindowwereflungopenviolently,andthehousemaidinheroutdoorhatandgarments,appearedstrugglinginafranticmannertothrowupthesash. Suddenlyamanappearedbesideher,helpingher—Dr.Kemp!
