           SointentwasEustaciauponWildeve’sfortunesthatsheforgothowmuchclosertoherowncoursewerethoseofClym;andinsteadofwalkingontomeethimatonceshesatdownuponastone.Shewasdisturbedinherreveriebyavoicebehind,andturningherheadbeheldtheoldloverandfortunateinheritorofwealthimmediatelybesideher.

           Sheremainedsitting,thoughthefluctuationinherlookmighthavetoldanymanwhoknewhersowellasWildevethatshewasthinkingofhim.
