           Tesscouldthenseehimatfulllength.Heworetheordinarywhitepinnerandleatherleggingsofadairy-farmerwhenmilking,andhisbootswerecloggedwiththemulchoftheyard;butthiswasallhislocallivery.Beneathitwassomethingeducated,reserved,subtle,sad,differing.
