           However,abirdpeculiartotheselands,andwhichhasneverpassedthelimitsoftheArrowandPapuanislands,waswantinginthiscollection.Butfortunereserveditformebeforelong.

           Afterpassingthroughamoderatelythickcopse,wefoundaplainobstructedwithbushes.Isawthenthosemagnificentbirds,thedispositionofwhoselongfeathersobligesthemtoflyagainstthewind.Theirundulatingflight,gracefulaerialcurves,andtheshadingoftheircolours,attractedandcharmedone’slooks.Ihadnotroubleinrecognisingthem.
