           Isoonaccustomedmyselftothisfantasticposition,aswellastothecomparativedarknesswhichsurroundedus.Thesoiloftheforestseemedcoveredwithsharpblocks,difficulttoavoid.Thesubmarineflorastruckmeasbeingveryperfect,andrichereventhanitwouldhavebeeninthearcticortropicalzones,wheretheseproductionsarenotsoplentiful.ButforsomeminutesIinvoluntarilyconfoundedthegenera,takinganimalsforplants;andwhowouldnothavebeenmistaken?Thefaunaandthefloraaretoocloselyalliedinthissubmarineworld.
