InthisthankfulframeIcontinuedalltheremainderofmytime,andtheconversationwhichemployedthehoursbetweenFridayandIwassuchasmadethethreeyearswhichwelivedtheretogetherperfectlyandcompletelyhappy,ifanysuchthingascompletehappinesscanbeformedinasublunarystate. ThesavagewasnowagoodChristian,amuchbetterthanI; thoughIhavereasontohope,andblessGodforit,thatwewereequallypenitent,andcomforted,restoredpenitents. WehadheretheWordofGodtoread,andnofartherofffromHisSpirittoinstructthanifwehadbeeninEngland.
IalwaysappliedmyselftoreadingtheScripture,tolethimknow,aswellasIcould,themeaningofwhatIread; andheagain,byhisseriousinquiriesandquestions,mademe,asIsaidbefore,amuchbetterscholarintheScripture-knowledgethanIshouldeverhavebeenbymyownprivatemerereading.
