Whenhecameagaintome,IenteredintoalongdiscoursewithhimuponthesubjectofredemptionofmanbytheSaviouroftheworld,andofthedoctrineoftheGospelpreachedfromheaven,viz.,ofrepentancetowardsGod,andfaithinourblessedLordJesus. IthenexplainedtohimaswellasIcouldwhyourblessedRedeemertooknotonHimthenatureofangels,buttheseedofAbraham; andhow,forthatreason,thefallenangelshadnoshareintheredemption; thatHecameonlytothelostsheepofthehouseofIsrael,andthelike.
Ihad,Godknows,moresinceritythanknowledgeinallthemethodsItookforthispoorcreature’sinstruction,andmustacknowledge,whatIbelieveallthatactuponthesameprinciplewillfind, thatinlayingthingsopentohim,IreallyinformedandinstructedmyselfinmanythingsthateitherIdidnotknow,orhadnotfullyconsideredbefore,butwhichoccurrednaturallytomyminduponsearchingintothemfortheinformationofthispoorsavage. AndIhadmoreaffectioninmyinquiryafterthingsuponthisoccasionthaneverIfeltbefore; sothatwhetherthispoorwildwretchwasthebetterformeorno,Ihadgreatreasontobethankfulthateverhecametome.
