Iconsideredthatthedevilmighthavefoundoutabundanceofotherwaystohaveterrifiedmethanthisofthesingleprintofafoot; thatasIlivedquiteontheothersideoftheisland,hewouldneverhavebeensosimpletoleaveamarkinaplacewhereitwasoftenthousandtoonewhetherIshouldeverseeitornot,andinthesand,too,whichthefirstsurgeofthesea,uponahighwind,wouldhavedefacedentirely.
