Thatbowlofrackpunchwasthecauseofallthishistory.Andwhynotabowlofrackpunchaswellasanyothercause?WasnotabowlofprussicacidthecauseofFairRosamond’sretiringfromtheworld?WasnotabowlofwinethecauseofthedemiseofAlexandertheGreat,or,atleast,doesnotDr.Lemprieresayso?—sodidthisbowlofrackpunchinfluencethefatesofalltheprincipalcharactersinthis"NovelwithoutaHero,"whichwearenowrelating.Itinfluencedtheirlife,althoughmostofthemdidnottasteadropofit.
