           ‘Now,youngwoman!’saidasmartly-dressedfemale,lookingoutfromadoorbehindher,‘whodoyouwanthere?’

           ‘Aladywhoisstoppinginthishouse,’answeredthegirl.

           ‘Alady!’wasthereply,accompaniedwithascornfullook.‘Whatlady?’

           ‘MissMaylie,’saidNancy.
