OfcoursethethingswhichhadbelongedtotheHalbrane’sboatandtheParacuta’sweretheonlyarticlesthatadornedthemightysidesofthelonelymysticform.NeverhadanyshipreachedsuchalatitudeoftheAntarcticSea.Hearneandhisaccomplices,CaptainLenGuyandhiscompanions,werethefirstwhohadtroddenthispointofthesoutherncontinent.Andanyvesselthatmighthaveapproachedthiscolossalmagnetmusthaveincurredcertaindestruction.Ourschoonermusthaveperished,evenasitsboathadbeendashedintoashapelesswreck.
