           Edmundwasuniformlykindhimself;andshehadnothingworsetoendureonthepartofTomthanthatsortofmerrimentwhichayoungmanofseventeenwillalwaysthinkfairwithachildoften.Hewasjustenteringintolife,fullofspirits,andwithalltheliberaldispositionsofaneldestson,whofeelsbornonlyforexpenseandenjoyment.Hiskindnesstohislittlecousinwasconsistentwithhissituationandrights:hemadehersomeveryprettypresents,andlaughedather.
