           AweekwasgonesinceEdmundmightbesupposedintown,andFannyhadheardnothingofhim.Therewerethreedifferentconclusionstobedrawnfromhissilence,betweenwhichhermindwasinfluctuation;eachofthemattimesbeingheldthemostprobable.Eitherhisgoinghadbeenagaindelayed,orhehadyetprocurednoopportunityofseeingMissCrawfordalone,orhewastoohappyforletter-writing!
