YounowtrytogototheRoundPond,butnurseshateit,becausetheyarenotreallymanly,andtheymakeyoulooktheotherway,attheBigPennyandtheBaby’sPalace.ShewasthemostcelebratedbabyoftheGardens,andlivedinthepalaceallalone,witheversomanydolls,sopeoplerangthebell,andupshegotoutofherbed,thoughitwaspastsixo’clock,andshelightedacandleandopenedthedoorinhernighty,andthentheyallcriedwithgreatrejoicings,“Hail,QueenofEngland!”WhatpuzzledDavidmostwashowsheknewwherethematcheswerekept.TheBigPennyisastatueabouther.
NextwecometotheHump,whichisthepartoftheBroadWalkwhereallthebigracesarerun,andeventhoughyouhadnointentionofrunningyoudorunwhenyoucometotheHump,itissuchafascinating,slide-downkindofplace.
