           ‘I’llmakeitpayablethedayafterto-morrow,’saidthelittleman,withalooktowardsMr.Wardle;‘andwecangettheladyaway,meanwhile.’Mr.Wardlesullenlynoddedassent.

           ‘Ahundred,’saidthelittleman.

           ‘MydearSir,’remonstratedthelittleman.

           ‘Giveithim,’interposedMr.Wardle,‘andlethimgo.’
