"Oh,fortheheathen,"surmisedPollyanna. "Howperfectlysplendid! That’sdenyingyourselfandtakingupyourcross. Iknow;fathertoldme."
Nancy’slipspartedabruptly,asiftherewereangrywordsallreadytocome; buthereyes,restingonPollyanna’sjubilantlytrustfulface,sawsomethingthatpreventedthewordsbeingspoken.
