"Humph!"chokedNancy,tryingtoswallowthelumpinherthroat.
"Mostgenerallyitdoesn’ttakesolong,"sighedPollyanna; "andlotsoftimesnowIjustthinkofthemWITHOUTthinking,youknow. I’vegotsousedtoplayingit. It’salovelygame. F-fatherandIusedtolikeitsomuch,"shefaltered. "Mystarsandstockings! —HER!"breathedNancy,behindherteeth. Then,aloud,shesaiddoggedly:"Seehere,MissPollyanna,Iain’tsayin’thatI’llplayitverywell,andIain’tsayin’thatIknowhow,anyway; butI’llplayitwithye,afterafashion—Ijustwill,Iwill!"
"Oh,Nancy!"exultedPollyanna,givingherarapturoushug. "That’llbesplendid! Won’twehavefun?"
