Theymoveduptheriverstreetthreeblocks,thenturnedtotheleftupacross-street. Theywentstraightahead,then,untiltheycametothepaththatledupCardiffHill;thistheytook. TheypassedbytheoldWelshman’shouse,half-wayupthehill,withouthesitating,andstillclimbedupward. Good,thoughtHuck,theywillburyitintheoldquarry. Buttheyneverstoppedatthequarry. Theypassedon,upthesummit. Theyplungedintothenarrowpathbetweenthetallsumachbushes,andwereatoncehiddeninthegloom.
