Hebecamequickerofmovementthantheotherdogs,swifteroffoot,craftier,deadlier,morelithe,moreleanwithironlikemuscleandsinew,moreenduring,morecruel,moreferocious,andmoreintelligent. Hehadtobecomeallthesethings,elsehewouldnothaveheldhisownnorsurvivethehostileenvironmentinwhichhefoundhimself.
