           OnthepresentoccasionseveralyoungComancheshadtakenouttheirwar-diploma,bycarryingbackwiththemthescalpsofanumberofwhitewomenandboys.Thehorsesandhornedcattlewerealsocollected;butthese,beinglessconvenientoftransportthanthelightscalp-locks,hadbeenrecaptured.
