           Waxenarms,legs,heads,andtorsoslayingrotesquearrayonvariousbenches,whileonhightiersofshelvesmattedwigs,ravenous-lookingteeth,andglassy,staringeyeswereindiscriminatelyscattered. Costumesofallsortshungfromhooks,andinonealcoveweregreatpilesofflesh-colouredwax-cakesandshelvesfilledwithpaint-cansandbrushesofeverydescription. Inthecentreoftheroomwasalargemelting-furnaceusedtopreparethewaxformoulding,itsfire-boxtoppedbyahugeironcontaineronhinges,withaspoutwhichpermittedthepouringofmeltedwaxwiththemeresttouchofafinger.
