IntheeveningGowingcalled,andsaidheenjoyedhimselfverymuchlastnight.Itooktheopportunitytoconfideinhim,asanoldfriend,abouttheviciouspunchlastnight.Heburstoutlaughing,andsaid:“Oh,itwasyourhead,wasit?IknowIaccidentallyhitsomething,butIthoughtitwasabrickwall.”ItoldhimIfelthurt,inbothsensesoftheexpression.
