Thenforthethirdtimetheycametogether,andatfirstEricstrovetobewary,ashehadbeenbefore;but,growingmadatfindinghimselfsofoiled,helosthiswitsandbegantorainblowssofiercelyandsofastthattheyrattledlikehailonpenthouseroof;but,inspiteofall,hedidnotreachwithinLittleJohn’sguard.ThenatlastLittleJohnsawhischanceandseizeditrightcleverly.Oncemore,withaquickblow,herappedEricbesidethehead,anderehecouldregainhimself,LittleJohnslippedhisrighthanddowntohisleftand,withaswingingblow,smotetheothersosorelyuponthecrownthatdownhefellasthoughhewouldnevermoveagain.
