Atlastagreatblastofbuglessounded,andintothemeadowcameridingsixtrumpeterswithsilvertrumpets,fromwhichhungvelvetbannersheavywithrichworkingsofsilverandgoldthread.BehindthesecamestoutKingHenryuponadapple-graystallion,withhisQueenbesidehimuponamilk-whitepalfrey.Oneithersideofthemwalkedtheyeomenoftheguard,thebrightsunlightflashingfromthepolishedbladesofthesteelhalberdstheycarried.BehindthesecametheCourtinagreatcrowd,sothatpresentlyallthelawnwasalivewithbrightcolors,withsilkandvelvet,withwavingplumesandgleaminggold,withflashingjewelsandswordhilts;agallantsightonthatbrightsummerday.
